About Prepar3D®

Training meets reality with Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D® simulation software. Private pilots, commercial organizations, militaries and academia rely on Prepar3D for immersive, experiential learning.

Prepar3D (pronounced “prepared”) is a visual simulation platform that allows users to create training scenarios across aviation, maritime and ground domains. Users can train anywhere in the virtual world, from underwater to sub orbital space.

Prepar3D furthers the development of Microsoft® ESP™ while maintaining compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator X, allowing many thousands of add-ons to be used within Prepar3D.

Re: Multi screen7:54 pm | May 17, 2012

Yes, the P3D "Tower Controller" is the same as FSX. Radar and associated gauges are identical. Multiplayer mode will allow you to "keep an eye on your students" (over both Lan and/or Internet ) Shared Cockpit in P3D has the enhansed feature, that allow you to share the cockpit with MULTIPLE other pilots, with the ability of any designated one, taking the flight controls. ( FSX only supported 2 in the shared cockpit ) For example, two student could fly the airline as Pilot and Co-Pilot, while you, as instructor, were also present in the plane, and able to introduce failures, without them seeing you manipulate the failures. They would just be aware of the consequences. :o

Re: sim1.dll crashes6:40 pm | May 17, 2012

Quote from bhollis on May 17, 2012, 10:08 If you only get the crash when running with this add-on, the add-on is likely not compatible with p3d. While our SDK is backward compatible, many add-ons use unsupported techniques such as direct function calls into our dlls. Prepar3D has made many changes to sim1 since the FSX days. If you're add-on tries to make a direct call into our dll based on memory offset from the fsx dll, it would almost certainly cause a crash. The add-on developer would need to find and fix the issue and release an update. Thanks, Beau
Or be smacked across the knuckles :x

Multi screen4:58 pm | May 17, 2012

I currently use FSX for Avionics technician training. The system uses one PC to run 6 screens, 4 of which are touch screen. Fact: FSX crashes if more than 4 screens are used, which makes my system difficult to set up/calibrate. I would consider switching to PREPAR3D if I know that I can set up AT LEAST 6 screens in native resolution (as FS9 can) Can FSX Aircraft be used with this software (Level D 767, in particular) Can a control tower set up be used (so I can keep an eye on my students) Copy and paste a link to my classroom, if you wish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6F9TpEyhv0 Thanks, in advance.

Hello guys i have an issue with the latest version 1.3.3708.0 of P3D. After i unistall the preveious version and installed the new one it is working great but i am facing the following error. In the windows control panel inside the programs and features the "Microsoft Esp Simconnect Client" instalation is missing. I have run again the installer and i did a repair but it is still missing. Is it now in v 1.3 included in the main installer? If not how i can fix it ?( please do not advise me to perform a format) P.s. the new v1.3 it is very amazing and stable. Many thanks in advance.
